What's the difference between monocrystalline silicon solar panel and polycrystalline silicon solar panel?

MINGXING LIGHTING focuses in outdoor lighting field for 16 years. Besides regular floodlight, we also have solar outdoor lights, such as solar floodlight, solar street light, soloar wall light, which explands the sales channel for our partners.

When adopting solar panel, there are monocrystalline silicon and polycrystalline silicon for choice. What's the differernce between them and how to choose?

1. Difference in production procedure.

Monocrystalline silicon is made from high-purity silicon. Polycrystalline silicon is made from silicon that is made during making single crystalline. Simply speaking, Monocrystalline silicon is single panel, and polycrystalline silicon is plywood panel.

2. Difference in permutation.

To be specific, Monocrystalline permutation is regular and polycrystalline permutation is irregular.

3. Difference in appearance.

Monocrystalline has smooth surface with beautiful color. It is dark blue and looks like black.

Polycrystalline has slight different color because its permutation is irregular. It looks blue.

4. Difference in Photovoltaic conversion efficiency.

Monocrystalline has higher density and lower power loss. It has better photovoltaic conversion efficiency that reaches about 20%. Over 20% is high efficient.

Polycrystalline has lower density and higher power loss. So, its photovoltaic conversion efficiency is about 15%.

MINGXING adopts good quality solar panel. The monocrystalline we used reaches 21% photovoltaic conversion efficiency. The polycrystalline we used reaches 18% photovoltaic conversion efficiency.

5. Difference in cost.

Monocrystalline has higher cost than polycrystalline.

How to choose?

Customer can choose according to his needs and requirement.
